Sam Macedone is the principal of Macedone Legal and an Accredited Specialist in Criminal Law. With 50 years experience across all aspects of the law, he has established a reputation as a legal expert. Sam appears frequently as a legal commentator on Channel Nine’s Today Show, A Current Affair and various radio stations.
Sam’s main professional focus is in criminal advocacy work and selected commercial litigation. During an extensive career, he has been involved in a number of high profile trials, both criminal and civil, some of which are:
- The euthanasia/murder case of Caren Jenning involving the death of ex-Qantas pilot, Graeme Wylie,
- The US sailor acquitted of a charge of rape (Sam was retained by the Government of the United States of America to appear for the sailor),
- The Simon Cowley v Nick D’Arcy claim for damages for assault, and
- The Paul Keating red light case, and
- The cold case murder of Rita Caleo in which his client was discharged at committal.
- The case of Curtis Scott, NSW NRL player, who was unlawfully detained by NSW Police.
Sam has had the conduct of matters in the Local Court, District Court, Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal, the Court of Criminal Appeal and in the High Court of Australia.
